Unleash your creativity in our exciting 90-minute Abstract Painting with Palette Knives class! Dive into the world of non-representational art as you explore bold techniques with palette knives, creating dynamic textures and colors. No experience is needed—bring your imagination and prepare to express yourself like never before!

This painting experience is uniquely designed for up to six students per class, offering personalized attention from an instructor with a Master of Fine Arts and an adjunct professor. Using palette knives, participants will explore the creative freedom of abstract painting in a hands-on, beginner-friendly setting. Guided by expert instruction, you’ll create a unique masterpiece and take home a complimentary poster as a keepsake.

I will teach a class investigating abstract-style painting using palette knives for this experience. Beginning or novice painters are welcome to try this experience, as this style of painting is intended for all who wish to learn an appreciation of how to paint in a nontraditional way. The course is divided into four parts and will last for one hour and thirty minutes.

Part 1: 10 min
This will be a brief but formal self-introduction, an introduction to abstract art /non-representational art, and an introduction to the materials that will be used for this painting experience.

Part 2: 10 min
This part intends to conduct a short step-by-step demonstration of how to start your painting appropriately. For the sake of time, we will use acrylic or water-based paints, which dry quickly.

Part 3: 60 min
This part is production time. In this section, you will have the opportunity to create​​ your Abstract painting with the palette knife.

10 minutes for setting up the canvas & practice using the palette knives.
50 minutes​ of painting on your own while I walk around providing feedback.

Part 4: 10 min
In this, we will wrap up and clean up.
